Archive Events 2016

Tiger Trust organized a Medical Camp for the forest officials at Sariska Tiger Reserve on 28th February 2016.

Tiger Trust attended and participated in the 3rd Asian Ministerial Conference on Conservation of Tigers held at Vigyan Bhawan from April 12-14 2016 in collaboration with Tigers For Tigers, Clemson University.

Tiger Trust India celebrated the GLOBAL TIGER'S DAY on July 29, 2016 at ASN Senior Secondary School, Delhi with a roar. Around 700 students attended the Program and participated in competition organized by the Trust - Slogan Writing, Poetry Writing, Book Mark Presentation, etc. Tiger Trust presented certificates to the winners and encouraged youth to save tigers.

Tiger Trust conducted its annual awareness campaign at Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve from October 1st - 3rd 2016. 35 students from ASN Senior Secondary School participated in this event. Students from the local schools of Sawai Madhopur also participated in the event and shared thoughts and ideas on the topic of conservation of nature and wildlife.

In March 2015, Tiger Trust organized “Save the Roar”, a three day workshop with 80 students from Symbiosis Law School (Noida, Delhi), 13 students from Clemson University (USA) and other supporters with total of around 100 participants.

Tiger Trust initiated conservation awareness program “Save the Roar” on August 4, 2015 at Ryan International, Gurgaon.

A Nature Walk was organised with the school students of Ryan International, Sohna Road to Aravalli Biodiversity Park, Vasant Vihar. Total 40 students of VI, VII & VIII standard participated in this Nature Walk, accompanied by the teachers, Tiger Trust staff and Nature Education Officer.

Tiger Trust initiated Wildlife Week 2015 Nature Walk was organised with the school students of ASN Sr. Sec. School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi- 91, to Aravalli Biodiversity Park, Vasant Vihar on 1 October’ 2015. Total 40 students of VI standard participated in this Nature Walk, accompanied by the teachers, Tiger Trust staff and Nature Education Officer of the staff.

Tiger Trust organized a Conservation Awareness Campaign named SAVE THE ROAR 2015-16 on August 31, 2015 at ASN Senior Secondary School. A total of 80 students from standards VI and VII respectively attended the event.

8th – 10th March 2013 at Don Bosco institute Guwahati, Assam

The Tiger Trust is organizing the last training program in the series of ‘Hunting the Hunters ‘ –II on 8th – 10th march 2013 at Don Bosco institute Guwahati, Assam. Last and final training under the project “Hunting the Hunters” for the forest staff of Assam. It is being held from 8 – 10 March 2013, at Don Bosco institute Guwahati Assam, the Emphasis of the training would be the investigation skills and the remedial measures for the precaution cases pending. In various divisions of Assam the program is designed by the tiger trust and funded by USFWS. The resource persons would be from various eg. Law, Police, precaution and forest departments. This ends the capacity building program on wild life crimes after 2 years. Tiger Trust has organized 3 training programs since 2011-2013

Sahai, the PCCF of wild Life along with all other senior officer. Shri Avinash Choubey The chief wild life warden presided over the workshop, There were 50 participants from entire Rajasthan .The main Workshop theme was to discuss the pending cases in various divisions in the courts. The workshop was also chaired by Shri Anil verma law secretary M.P. to address the Legal issues the program was designed by Anjana Gosain with Manjeet Singh Ahluwalia, Tehmeena Punvani, and Kamaldeep Kaur, project coordinator. Training was a run away success and ended the series of the project ‘HUNTING THE HUNTERS’ - II

One-day capacity building program for forest women guards at Sariska, Rajasthan held on 30th September 2012

Tiger Trust conducted one day pre-proposal Legal training workshops with the women forest guards at Sariska and Ranthambore . The workshop was held at Sariska on the 30th September 2012 presided over by field Director, Sariska Tiger Reserve R.S. Shekhawat. 18 participants attended the workshop; the main aim was identifying the possible areas of intervention by Tiger Trust.

Wildlife Week held in Rajasthan 1st -7th October

Tiger Trust along with Nature Club of Rajasthan organized a week long program for the school students of Jaipur and Sariska. 6500 students participated and they were from various schools and colleges.

    Painting competitions and photography competition was conducted .
  • 2nd October
    900 students participate in nature painting.
  • 3rd October
    Dance competition predicting the importance of nature education was given to 530 students.
  • 4th October
    Quiz on environment by 720 students.
  • 5th October
    800 rural students from Jamvara Garh participate in the campaign.
  • 6th October
    527 students from Amrita Devi World Heritage Garden were involved in the awareness program.
  • 7th October
    Final exhibition was done of the photographs and paintings which were carried out during the week. This was attended by 150 visitors. This entire wild life week program was funded by Tiger Trust.

2nd December 2012

The science of saving the Tigers with the global interest in the long term viability of tiger population in the wilds of Asia especially in India, it was a treat for Tiger lovers as they gathered in big numbers to witness the annual Kalash Sankhla Memorial Lecture 2012.

Keynote speaker – Dr. K. Ullas Karanth a well-known biologist and scientist who have contributed immensely to the world of conservation, he was concerned about the fate of tiger tourism in the country and suggested that the budget tourism should be encouraged. He gave very impressive presentation on the subject which educated the students evenly.
